The Designing Biomimetic Robot curriculum contains four modules, designed to engage middle school students in using ideas from animal structure and function to build a biomimetic robot using the Hummingbird Bit classroom robotics kit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The modules include<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An introduction for the teacher discusses problem-based learning; suggested instructional approaches including formative evaluation; and information on alignment with science, engineering and computer science standards. Lesson plans support student engagement in disciplinary practices such as developing and using models, algorithmic thinking, and generating design solution ideas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
